Fresh off his first public release, Shane Eli is jostling with Kobe for the head spotlight in LA. Shane Eli is a beast on the vocals, but what makes him most impressive is his unique ability to handle emcee and production duties. “The Push,” his newly released mixtape, may not be the first you’ve heard from Eli, but it certainly acts as his proper introduction into the world of music. Be sure to check out “Grey Area” below and the rest of the album here.

Slow it up. Speed it down. The catchy chorus of this song practically takes you to the streets of L.A. – where this crew, The Antidotes, are beginning to make a name for themselves. The four members of the Antidotes, Konscious K, MarkFader, Jo Well & Phenomenon met in high school and have been making music ever since. The groups first album, L.A. Lights, is track by track  hit or miss – you can almost sense the groups members trying to figure out the best way to take turns trading verses. A recently released mixtape, coupled with solo projects and energetic live shows have this L.A. crew following in the footsteps of legendary California hip hop supergroups such as Living Legends and Hieroglyphics.
