After leaking several tracks through various music blogs, today Na Palm finally releases his full 23-track mixtape – Dirty Girls Like Dirty Beats. We previously introduced Chicago-native, Na Palm in mid-July with the release of his emotional hip-hop/ballad “Time to Rise,” but on this latest work, Palm makes it clear that his style is an upbeat one, reminiscent of the glitzy club scene. Rhyming over mainstream instrumentals like Pink’s “Sober” and Drake’s “Forever,” Na Palm attempts to prove his place in the hip-hop world… and does a damn good job. Be sure to check out the new mixtape, and my favorite track off the album “Road To Fame” featuring the smokey vocals of Ben Fuller.

What are the elements that made Jay-Z’s classic “Hardknock Life” so good? The answer’s simple – a catchy sample from the broadway play Annie and a flow and storyline to match. While Jay-Z can pull sampling just about anything off, since his masterpiece few others have dared try to sample a broadway play…until Chicago’s S-Preme arrived. To create the masterpiece that we feature below, S-Preme utilized a snippet of broadway star Kristen Chenowith’s “Wicked” song “Popular” as a chorus. S-Preme created a beat and chorus with tremendous potential – and while this alone is impressive, the best part of this song is how S-Preme’s verses fit with it. He kills it – ending the song “success is spelled with two t’s//talent time//until then im living in my mind//where im…popular.” Whether this MC becomes popular or not remains to be seen, but with songs like this he certainly could be soon – we’ll keep an eye on this talented MC in the meantime and keep you updated – for now check out the song below and download his latest, outstanding mixtape here.

Na Palm is a new rapper out of Chicago that has largely increased his fan base since his inclusion on the release of BroBible’s Summer Mixtape. His song included on that album, “What’s Yo Name,” reveals the rappers popularity with the college/frat/drunken party scene, but it’s his new release, Time To Rise, that has worked to solidify Na Palm’s reputation. Time to Rise is a song about his journey through music and its effects on himself and his family. It wasn’t until after graduating from Eastern Illinois University that this young artist decided to make music his life, and soon we will see the result of his efforts in his upcoming studio album. Word has it that famed producer Prolyfic has been working with Na Palm and his team, so expect great things.
